Job Description

Codé Nast Entertainment’s global digital video teams create premium video content showcasing Condé Nast’s iconic global brands. Delivering on average over 1 billion video views per month, the team currently produces 4,000+ digital videos per year in all genres including non-scripted, documentary, how-to, comedy, animation, scripted, branded, virtual reality and (live) event programming.

We are looking for a creative and strategic candidate to support the continued growth of Condé Nast Entertainment’s digital video syndication across our European and Mexico/Latin American operations, supporting a primary function in our evolution into a 21st century world class entertainment company. As Localisation Manager, Digital Video APAC you will be responsible for syndication across a number of markets and brands, providing localisation programming support to individual Heads of Programming and Development across the local language regions and identifying local market originals with global appeal. This role reports to the VP, Digital Video Programming and Development, APAC Local Language.

The purpose of this role is to supercharge the syndication pipeline (ensuring our content is distributed as widely as possible across our global portfolio), adding incremental value to the programming slate which will drive audience growth and engagement. Supporting commercial revenue on Condé Nast’s preeminent portfolio of brands in the forms of:

• Original and social video for global digital platforms (e.g. O&O, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, WeChat, Line)

• Live cultural events resonating on a global, regional, and or, local scale

• Syndicated series for local language and English language markets and OTT channels around the world

• Video franchises that transcend platforms and markets

Primary Responsibilities
IP Portfolio Localisation

• Drive a robust digital video localisation programming pipeline for local language APAC audiences including Japan, Taiwan, India, and China markets; across Vogue, GQ, GQ Style, Conde Nast Traveller, Wired, and AD; that delivers on the brands’ iconic attributes and optimizes appeal on designated exhibition/distribution platforms, leveraging a firm understanding of digital metrics and data analytics

• Take briefs from Heads of Programming to fulfill syndication requirements, using archive and new video content to support multi-platform market and regional editorial campaigns and programming initiatives across

• Be the go-to subject matter expert on the entire CNE global digital video library available across multiple platforms and markets

• Partner with in-market teams to understand local cultural dynamics and take an informed approach to localisation

• Partner with the Localisation Manager in Europe (excl-UK) and Mexico/Latin America to devise and execute cohesive syndication

• Provide market syndication newsletter including pitch documents to aid market programming leads in their syndication decisions

• Support content licensing business by delivering impactful and thorough syndication bundles for new and current partnerships

• Track and log localisation usage across the APAC region

• Brief Content Planning and Analysis team to develop white space analysis for local-market syndication programming gaps and identify in-market bubbling content with syndication appeal

• Working closely with local language programming leads, identify local programs with content 'value' for English language syndication and for cross-local syndication.

• Ensure clear flow of syndication programming updates through to integrated planning team to ensure regional content calendars are accurately capturing programmed syndication

• Ensure confirmed syndication programming is logged with content operations team for subs and dubs workflow

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in the digital media space as a professional with inclusive style that garners respect and trust across stakeholders and team members

• A solid understanding of the global video landscape

• Experience or knowledge of using a Content Management System or similar softwares

• Trouble-shoot and use one’s own initiative to provide solutions when schedule or plans change due to delays or scope change, with focus on managing risk and expectations

• A strong team player who is engaging, enthusiastic, and positive; with interest in developing relationships with colleagues on all levels

• Highly organised with ability to meet tight deadlines and drive projects

• Excellent attendance and time management skills with the ability to multitask

• A natural problem solver

• An innate understanding and appreciate of world culture, and the political and operational challenges of our global markets

• Fluency in two or more languages is highly desirable

• Knowledge of internet culture and digital video landscape (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram), the unique elements of each video platform and what makes particular videos successful on those platforms

• Successful experience navigating matrixed organizations

• Experience within a start-up or new line of business within a large, highly leveraged company

• Familiarity with the brands and businesses of Condé Nast

Employment status

Permanent employee (with a probation period of 6 months)
